Welcome To Environmental
Fridays
...it is personal
Environmental Fridays is a free online guest lecture series for high school and early college students. But everyone else is encouraged and welcomed to attend since the environment is not simply around us but is personal to us all, to our health and survival. So, it is important that we mentor our next generation about environmental challenges and concerns. Their future, our future may be dependent on it.
Making Science Come Alive
Engaging students in critical thinking and responsible action about environmental, sustainability, scientific and technological problems that impacts public health, medicine, energy, urbanization, climate change and air, water and soil pollution. Real-world examples that may inspire and influence future career choices will be given.
A Free Supplement to Science Courses
Real-world topics will stimulate students’ curiosity and enhance their interest in both natural and social sciences. Includes biology, chemistry, toxicology, geography, geology, sociology, anthropology, earth and environmental sciences.
Awesome Speakers, Real-World Topics
Our guest speakers come from around the world including the Americas (North, South, and Central), Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe. They include university professors, environmental consultants, environmental activists, environmental attorneys, government experts, private citizens, and students. Presentations cover the four aspects of the environment: natural, built, sociocultural, and temporal. They address the ‘triple planetary crisis’ as designated by the United Nations Environment Programme: climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. Specific episodes cover topics such as Asthma, Biodiversity and Conservation, Climate Change, Energy, Environmental Communication, Environmental Health, Environmental Injustice, Environmental Literature, Environmental Science and Education, Indigenous Knowledge, Pollution (air, water, soil), Public Health, Religion and the Environment, Sustainability, Technology and the Environment, Urbanization, and Water (e.g. drought, pollution).
